Do you want to help change a child’s future while gaining transferable skills and enhancing your CV?
Pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds are 2.5 times less likely to gain access to University than those from high-income families, and studies have shown that this is linked to poor performance at secondary school.
Our mission is to ensure that a child’s background does not dictate their future. You can help us achieve this! By participating in our Voluntary Leadership Programme you will act as a positive role model to disadvantaged children while helping them reach their academic potential. Pupils who participated in last year’s 10-week Autumn programme showed 50% more improvement than the national average in English and Maths.
As a Team Up Tutor on our 10-week Summer Leadership Programme, you will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on children’s lives. You will develop and apply skills in leadership, teaching, presentation and communication through tutoring children from a low-income background. Alongside this, you will also enjoy the following benefits:
Full tutor training, detailed lesson plans and resources and in-classroom support from an experienced teacher
DBS certificate and Child Safeguarding training
The opportunity to earn a recognised leadership qualification through additional training
A personal mentor from your career sector of interest, as part of our new Employer Mentoring programme
Up to £100 worth of vouchers for coffee and quality food as a thank you gift from our friends at the Department of Coffee and Social Affairs!
